TIMELINE & PROCEDURE

STEP 1– Month 1

Elite Citizenship & Investment will pre-screen your passport copy for government pre-approval before requirement of investment.
A down payment of the professional fees is required to open your application (paid on signing of retainer agreement).

STEP 2 – Month 1-2

Collection of the all the required documents according to the Government checklist.
The investor will then visit Portugal in order to make the necessary investment in real estate, fixed deposit or a business development.
During this visit, the investor will visit Immigration services for the purposes of leaving fingerprints, pictures and biometric data.

STEP 3 – Month 3-6

Once the investor returns to his home country, the funds required for the purchase of the property should be transferred to his/her bank account in Portugal.
Once the purchase of the property is completed and the registration is done, the documents are submitted for the residency application together with the residency processing fees paid to Immigration Services.

STEP 4 – Month 3-6

Once the residency application is submitted, the Immigration Services generally approve it within 3 to 4 weeks.
Remaining balance of professional fees are paid.

STEP 5 – Month 3-6

After payment of the processing fee, the Immigration Services start processing the residency cards. This usually takes between 3-4 weeks. Once the cards are issued, they will be sent by courier to Elite Citizenship & Investment.

STEP 6 – Month 8

Visit Portugal for 1 week a year for 5 years to fulfil the residency requirement.

STEP 7 – Year 6

Applying for Portuguese citizenship for all members of the family.

a minimum investment of€ 500,000 and maintains it for 5 years.

The applicant may opt for purchasing a property for the value of € 350,000
where the property is eitherat least 30 years old or located in an urban renewal area.
